Tunisian is so now!9
I haven't blogged in a while but really felt I had to mention this! So just last night I was at SnB and working on a project using tunisian crochet, I generally expect to get asked lots of questions when doing tunisian as it's not as well known. A new lady asks the questions and a discussion is started about the amount of tunisian patterns appearing in the Simply Crochet magazine. Cue a Facebook post from said magazine about a tunisian FAQ! SPOOKY! And at this spooky time of year too.

Secret Santa Swap 2013
So once more I entered the delights of a Secret Santa swap. Only just managed to get my parcel off on time but received this lovely box in the post.
And with a little bit of help from my sister I managed to resist opening it until Christmas day, and inside were little parcels and some choccies.
More furious unwrapping later and we have lots of goodies.
A lovely soft sock yarn, circular needles, fruit tea, snazzy scissors, needles, chocs, a keyring sized sock blocker and some patterns for the yarn. I have been spoilt.

Yarndale
So on Sunday myself and a few yarny friends headed for Skipton and Yarndale.
As soon as we got through the door we fell in love with these lovely alpacas.
And not much later I had my 1st purchase, this gorgeous yarn caught my eye due to the colours but when I saw the name I knew I was buying it. It's called Morgana, and was bought from Laal Bear (www.laalbear.co.uk).
I just love the ears on the one in the corner.

So we continued with our browsing and found more fluffy creatures in the form of sweet lil bunnies.

and the Attic 24 followers stepped up and produced all this amazing bunting (which was all around the site too).
And while we're on the subject of bunting, I picked up this gorgeous halloween bunting, bought from Slightly Sheepish (www.slightly-sheepish.com).
Managed to pick a bargain from The Hookery (www.thehookery.co.uk) in the form of this wonderfully soft Rico Baby.
And my final purchase was this amazing yarn from Easy Knits (www.easyknits.co.uk). This was another case of colour catching my eye but the name twisting my arm, this is called zombie kiss.
Also picked up a few freebie patterns and about a gazillion business cards.
So there you have it, a brief summery of my day at Yarndale. Can't wait for next year.

Herdy Rucksack
I am very happy with the progress on my latest new project (yes I have started something else :/ ). But considering this is a knitting project that isn't socks or a square I am chuffed with myself. I saw this kit and just had to have it. It will hopefully soon be a finished rucksack as in just a couple of weeks I already have the majority of the bits finished.
I have also completed the back and flap, so just the straps and face to finish now then it's the dreaded task of sewing up.

More Yarn!!
So as is my usual pattern of behaviour I have seen lovely new yarn and had to find a pattern to use it. So I have now bought yarn for another tunisian crochet project.
As yet I haven't finished a thing, though progress has been made on my turtle cushion as the base is now finished and I'm onto the top.
Other than that it's full speed ahead on blanket squares!

A lovely gift
As I sit here typing this, my sister is sat next to me attempting the flower from the kit with this month's Simply Crochet. This is a big thing as she has only just started to crochet but seems to be picking it up quickly as I am already wearing a finished article. This is the gorgeous bracelet she gave me.
I can't wait to see more of her work.
