New Tunisian Stitch Revealed

As promised here is a picture of the my latest tunisian stitch.

This is Tunisian Extended Stitch

Apologies for my poor photography skills I have managed to get a nice close up of the stitch but you still can't quite see the slight openness of this stitch.

New Tunisian Stitch

Currently on the hook is a new Tunisian stitch. As soon as I get a square finished I'll take a picture and post it. Then after that got instructions for another stitch so will try to get a square worked up in that one too.

Woolly Warmth

Here is a slightly odd blog post as it's about something I made a while ago.

As the cold weather continues I am eternally grateful that some years ago I crocheted a large throw in two chunky yarns. I can wrap myself up and carry on crafting, reading or whatever I'm doing. This throw lives on my couch, though on really cold nights I take it to bed. It nearly always goes camping with me, my friends think I'm mental but I am very rarely cold. If you're looking for an easy pattern but have more scarves than you know what to do with I would really recommend a simple throw. On cold winter nights there is nothing better (except adding hot chocolate :) )

Thoughts on another year gone by

Well another year has gone by and more projects have been started but only one has been finished!

This massive level of success has lead me to a conclusion, I finish things faster if I'm working to a deadline. The proof being the only project I finished last year was the only project for which I had an it must be finished by date.

Having mentioned this to a friend, she has decided that this year she will give me deadlines for my existing projects. Having said that two of the projects have deadlines (a birthday and Christmas).

With the dawning of 2013 I have also had a long hard look at my wips and hibernated those I haven't touched in ages. I have managed to cut it down to 7 active projects and 10 hibernated projects.

So time for an early night before hitting the hooks tomorrow.

Secret Santa Gifts Revealed

Well, I was very good and waited till Christmas day to open my pretty box. The contents were lots of little presents.

I had great fun for a few moments trying to guess what was in each one then opened them all with exclamations of delight. And this is the contents.

A lovely little pad which has gone straight in my craft bag and will mean I no longer have to keep count on the back of envelopes :)

Funky scissors

Chocolate! always a good gift and by the time I blog this all gone.

Super useful little stich makers, hand made too :)

Very useful tissue cover (with tissues) which has gone straight into my handbag.

Cute sparkly owl for the tree.

Good old granny square, this time on a pin cushion.

More sweeties :)

Pot warmer, as someone always looking for a tea towel or my vanishing oven glove, this will come in very useful.

Most gorgous hand dyed sock yarn, love it!

And in the final package a great project bag which has already had a project transfered into it from my usual plastic bag.

Secret Santa 2

Well I was in a bit of a panic when I realised I'd left half my swap goodies at my Mum's and had to make hurried arrangements to get them back in time to make the posting deadline. But all was well and thanks to my Mum the goodies all made it into the box and into the post on time (though in my rush I did forget to put the card in). And package made it to it's destination so now just hoping they like it.
